Professor Henk Granzier, PhD, and Granzier Lab featured in UA News article (November 14, 2017)

Congratulations to CMM professor Henk Granzier, and the Granzier Lab, who were featured in an article for UA News!  The article focuses on the Granzier Lab's discovery that titin regulates thick filament length in striated muscle.  "Functionally and clinically, it is very important to regulate the thick filament precisely, otherwise muscles would not function well," said Dr. Granzier. "Biologists have always wondered what makes them so precisely structured."

The Granzier Lab's findings were recently published in Nature Communications: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-017-01144-9
