Kristian Doyle, PhD

Kristian Doyle received his PhD from Oregon Health & Science University and completed postdoctoral training at Stanford University. He is an investigator in stroke immunology whose research focuses on how the immune system shapes long-term brain injury and recovery after stroke. His work has helped redefine stroke as not only an acute vascular event, but also a chronic immune-driven disease. By investigating how lipid metabolism, dysfunctional myeloid cells, and antigen-specific immune responses interact in the injured brain, his laboratory seeks to explain why inflammation can persist for months to years after stroke and to develop therapeutic strategies to restore immune balance and improve recovery.
